Protecting a person also means listening to them, supporting them and helping them face what they are going through.
A situation involving violence, abuse, mistreatment or severe vulnerability can affect a person directly, but also those around them.
A mother may ask for help because she fears for herself or her children. A family member may report what is happening. A boy or girl may find the courage to speak about what they are experiencing.
VOICE exists to listen to these situations and help activate the support needed, through psychological support, legal assistance, specialised services and, when necessary, the involvement of the relevant authorities.
Every situation is different. That is why the first step is to listen to the person, understand what they are going through and assess what forms of protection and support may be appropriate.
When a situation requires intervention, we can help connect the person with professionals, specialised services or qualified people in the areas of psychological, legal and protection support.
Facing a situation involving violence, abuse or vulnerability can be extremely difficult. VOICE also means accompanying the person through the process needed to receive the help they need.
Recognising a situation of violence or vulnerability is the first step. The second is making sure that the person does not have to face it alone and can access professional support and appropriate forms of protection.
A situation involving violence, abuse or severe vulnerability can have profound consequences for a person. VOICE can help provide access to professional psychological support, appropriate to the situation and to the person’s needs.
When a situation requires legal assistance, reporting or contact with the relevant authorities, VOICE can help activate the most appropriate pathway through professionals and specialised services.
The situation is shared and taken into consideration.
We seek to understand the situation and the type of support needed.
When necessary, professionals, specialised services or relevant authorities are involved.
The person is supported through the process needed to receive protection and assistance.
A need can reveal something that goes beyond the initial need.
A family may come into contact with La Levure through HELP, as part of the long-term support provided to a child, and during that support a difficult family situation, violence or an injustice requiring attention may emerge.
A child may be reached through EDUKIT because of an educational need and, by talking with the child or their family, something that was not visible at the beginning may emerge.
An intervention through HOPE, arising from the need for medical care or a health problem, may bring to light a situation involving mistreatment, violence or vulnerability.
This is also why our programmes are not isolated compartments.
When a situation emerges that requires protection, VOICE can become the point through which the most appropriate psychological, legal or protection support is activated, involving, when necessary, professionals, specialised services or relevant authorities.
The goal is not to speak on behalf of the person. It is to make sure that they can be heard, that what they are experiencing is taken seriously and that they can receive the support and protection they need.
“Protecting means making sure that no one has to face alone what is happening to them.”
Your support can help make psychological support, legal assistance and protection interventions accessible to people facing a difficult situation.
